The ppp kernel module has been removed. It’s still possible to run ppp(8) in userland, with tun(4), so it’s only a change in strategy, not result.

A running description of activity related to DragonFly BSD.
why?
I recall it being that there was two versions, and the userland one was easier to support/being updated. So, no reason to keep the other around. I could be wrong.
