In Other BSDs for 2015/07/18

I seem to have In Other BSDs exactly 1 day off from the OPNsense release schedule, so far.

  1. I have an x220 running OpenBSD. It’s great. Everything seems to work, from wifi down to the SD card reader. One thing that really surprises me is how well resume/suspend works. It feels instantaneous — much quicker than Linux or Windows.

I hope that newer thinkpads — even with their crummy keyboards — do/will work as well.

  2. Suspend and resume under OpenBSD is a definite gem in BSD world. It was one of the main reasons that I switched from FreeBSD some time ago. It lacks some other features, like a powerful filesystem, but suspend resume support was a must have feature.
