I am late posting this: the most recent episode of BSDNow has, along with the regular array of items, an interview of Chris Buechler, of the commercial support company behind pfSense.
Interestingly, he says that he came to FreeBSD because of his frustration with Linux distributions. Apparently he later went on addressing this issue by creating pfSense instead of improving FreeBSD directly and commiting the webui part to ports…
