Curious about where to place rc scripts from pkgsrc? Joerg Sonneberger says where to stick them.
One Reply to “rc destinations”
pkgsrc can do this automatically. If your make variable “PKG_RCD_SCRIPTS” (and “PKG_CONFIG”) is set to YES (mk.conf) then the example rc.d scripts are copied into place to /etc/rc.d (or RCD_SCRIPTS_DIR).
If using binary packages with pkg_add, just set PKG_RCD_SCRIPTS to YES in your environment.
(Be careful if /usr/pkg/ is not mounted yet when using the rc.d scripts.)
