One Reply to “rc destinations”

  1. pkgsrc can do this automatically. If your make variable “PKG_RCD_SCRIPTS” (and “PKG_CONFIG”) is set to YES (mk.conf) then the example rc.d scripts are copied into place to /etc/rc.d (or RCD_SCRIPTS_DIR).

If using binary packages with pkg_add, just set PKG_RCD_SCRIPTS to YES in your environment.

(Be careful if /usr/pkg/ is not mounted yet when using the rc.d scripts.)
