There’s a review of DragonFly 1.0A over at Newsforge by Jem Matzan of The Jem Report. It has valid points (Using the ports system is a hack) and some invalid ones (The reviewer wouldn’t benchmark with SMP off.)

Is it true that ports must be compiled from the ports tree and from the dfly tree? That was the impression I got from reading this review. I thought there was one install utility that could catch both ports and the dfly patches..
You just make sure that the dfports tree is up-to-date, that the ports tree is up-to-date, and then you use ports. It auto-detects dfports overrides.
Just like others have said, he didn’t do his homework.
