I wonder if a discussion of the performance aspects of configurable mitigations for side channel and timing attacks such as Meltdown and Spectre would also be in order.  Alternatively, one could have a reference to a separate  page discussing the security and performance aspects of such work arounds with some advice concerning optimization for different use cases.  Is there already such a page?]]></description>
