NetBSD 4.0 looks very promising. I need a fileserver with RAID5, and that will be my OS of choice, because:
- FreeBSD has no RAID5 support for GEOM, only an unofficial third-party driver.
- ZFS (RAID-Z) requires 2+ GB of RAM and amd64/em64t is recommended.
- DragonFly has no decent RAID5 support AFAIK.
- I don't like Linux.
- RAIDframe looks promising.
