It wasn&#039;t all that bright, and frustrated with the lack of progress he went on to make a shell out of the quake 1 source code (he called it creatively enough, the Quake shell). 

To delete a file you&#039;d fire upon it, and to kill a daemon, well, you&#039;d fire on that too. Going through a directory structure involved going up or down stairs. 

Heh. I miss that guy.
